అభాగ్యులకు సేవలందించడమే వృత్తి
పేదరికాన్ని పూర్తిగా రూపుమాపటం అయితే ఎవరికివారు తన వంతు సహాయపడితే కొంతవరకైనా గాడిలో పెట్టవచ్చు ఇది లయన్ విజయ్ కుమార్ అభిప్రాయం
భారతదేశంలో దారిద్రయం, పేదరికంతో బాధపడుతున్న వారి సాతమే ఎక్కువ. వీటి నిర్మూలనకు ప్రభుత్వాలు ఎన్ని పథకాలు చేపట్టిన అనుకున్న లక్ష్యాలు రావడం లేదు. ఈ స్థితిలో పలు స్వచ్ఛంద సంస్థలు తమ వంతుగా చేస్తున్న కృషి కొంతలో కొంత వారిని ఆదుకోగలుగుతున్నాయి. ఇదే కోవాలో ఏర్పడింది లయన్స్ క్లబ్. స్వేచ్ఛ. విజ్ఞానం. దేశ పరిరక్షణ ధ్యేయంగా 1970లో నెలకొల్ప బడిన లయన్స్ క్లబ్ మన రాష్ట్రంలో 50 ఏళ్ల కింద వేళ్ళునుకుని ఇప్పటివరకు ఎన్నో స్వచ్ఛంద కార్యక్రమాల్లో పాలుపంచుకుంటూ మరెందరికో సహాయ సహకారాలు అందిస్తూ ఆదుకుంటుంది. నిస్సహాయులుగా గుర్తించిన వారందరికీ తప్పకుండా లయన్స్ క్లబ్ అందిస్తున్న సేవలు ఎంతైనా ప్రశంసనీయం.
నేత్రదానం, రక్తదానం లాంటి పలు అత్యవసర సేవా కార్యక్రమాలు లయన్స్ ద్వారా కొనసాగుతున్నాయి. లయనిజం అంటేనే దాతృత్వం. ఇది ఉన్నవారే ఈ లయన్స్ క్లబ్ లో చేరుతూ పనిచేస్తుంటారు. ఈ పని చేసే వారిలో సేవాభావం మరింత ఎక్కువగా ఉండటంతో పాటు పదిమందిని ఆకట్టుకోగలిగే సమర్థత ఉన్నట్లయితే అనుకున్న లక్ష్యాన్ని మరింత వేగంగా, ఫలవంతంగా అందుకునే వీలుంటుంది. అలాంటి వారిలో అరికపూడి విజయ్ కుమార్ ను ప్రధానంగా పేర్కొనాలి. మహబూబ్నగర్ జిల్లాలోని జడ్చర్ల లయన్స్ క్లబ్లో చేరడం దగ్గర నుంచి ఇప్పటివరకు ఎంతో సమయాన్ని వెచ్చిస్తూ పేదలు, మానసిక వికలాంగులు.. ఇలా ఎందరికో తన చేయూతను అందిస్తూ వచ్చారు. అత్యంత క్రమశిక్షణ, అంకితభావం, పట్టుదల, సేవాభావమే ఆయన పెట్టుబడి. ఆయుధాలు. అందుకే తన పనిలో ఎన్నో విజయాలను సాధించగలిగారు. నేత్రాలు సేకరించి అంధులకి అందించడం, రక్తానికై విలవిలాడే వారికి రక్తదానం చేయించడం, గుండె ఆపరేషన్లు కావలసిన నిరుపేదలకు, తమ క్లబ్ ద్వారా లక్షల మొత్తాన్ని వెచ్చించి ఉచితంగా చేయించడం లాంటి ఎన్నో కార్యక్రమాలను దిగ్విజయంగా నిర్వహిస్తూ, 24 గంటలు వారి సేవలోనే ఉన్నామనే విషయాన్ని నిరూపించగలిగారు. లయన్స్ క్లబ్లో తాను పనిచేసిన ప్రతి స్థాయిలోనూ నూతన లక్ష్యాలు, ఆశయాలతో పనిచేయడం అలవాటుగా పెట్టుకుని ఇనుమడించిన ఉత్సాహంతో వాటిని సాధించడం ఆయనకే చెల్లింది. లక్ష్యాలు పెట్టుకోవడం వేరు.. వాటిని సాధించడం వేరు. ఇది అందరూ చేయలేరు. కారణం కృషి, సమర్థత కావాలి. ఈ రెండు విజయకుమార్ కు ఉండడం వల్లనే తాను అనుకున్న దాన్ని సునాయాసంగా నెరవేర్చగలిగారు.
సేవలు
సంవత్సరానికి కొన్ని వేల కుటుంబ నియంత్రణ ఆపరేషన్లు చొప్పున కొన్నేళ్లలో లక్షల సంఖ్యలో చేయించారు. ప్రతి రెవెన్యూ డిస్ట్రిక్ట్ కు ఒక అంబులెన్స్ ఏర్పాటు చేయడం, మానసిక వికలాంగులైన పిల్లల కోసం కొన్ని ప్రత్యేక సంక్షేమ కార్యక్రమాలు, లక్షల యూనిట్ల రక్త సేకరణ, ప్రతి రెవెన్యూ జిల్లాకు ఒక బ్లడ్ బ్యాంకు, నగర పరిశుభ్రత కోసం ప్రత్యేక కార్యక్రమాలు ఎన్నో చేశారు.
To serve the unfortunate is a vocation indeed

Their dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of the less fortunate is truly commendable.
The Lions Club, through Lions like Arigapudi Vijay Kumar, carries out vital service programs, including eye and blood donations. “Lionism” means being a donor, and those who join the Lions Club willingly contribute their time and efforts. With unwavering dedication, they achieve remarkable milestones, like raising significant funds and conducting various charitable activities. Vijay Kumar, a member of the Jadcherla Lions Club in Mahabubnagar district, has tirelessly served the community, including the mentally challenged, by providing eye care, organizing blood donation drives, and performing cataract surgeries. Their passion for setting and achieving new goals is commendable, emphasizing the importance of agriculture and skill development. Their dual accomplishments, both personal and societal, stand as an inspiring example for all.
Throughout the year, they’ve conducted numerous family planning operations, numbering in the lakhs. They’ve also provided many special welfare programs for mentally challenged children, established blood banks with lakhs of units, and set up ambulances for every revenue district. Additionally, they’ve organized various programs for urban sanitation and hygiene.
