లయన్స్ గవర్నర్గా విశిష్ట సేవ: డాక్టర్ విజయకుమార్ 1989లో లయనిజంలో చేరి వైస్ ప్రెసిడెంట్ గా, జోన్ చైర్మన్, రీజియన్ చైర్మన్, గ్రూప్ కోఆర్డినేటర్, వైస్ గవర్నర్, మహబూబ్నగర్ జిల్లా లయన్స్ గవర్నర్గా విశిష్ట సేవలు అందించారు. విజయకుమార్ 1996-97 లో లయన్ గవర్నర్గా ఏకగ్రీవంగా ఎన్నికయ్యారు. గవర్నర్గా బాధ్యతలు చేపట్టగానే, మెహబూబ్ నగర్, మెదక్, బోధన్, రామాయంపేట, నిజామాబాద్ తదితర ప్రాంతాల్లో పేదల సేవ కోసం అంబులెన్స్ లు ప్రవేశపెట్టారు. ఇప్పటికీ అవి విజయవంతంగా పనిచేస్తున్నాయి.

గవర్నర్ తమిళసై ప్రశంస : గత ఏడాది మహబూబ్ నగర్ లో రెడ్ క్రాస్ వారి బ్లడ్ బ్యాంక్ భవంతి నిర్మించారు విజయకుమార్. తెలంగాణ రాష్ట్ర గవర్నర్ తమిళసై ఆయన దాతృత్వాన్ని ఎంతగానో ప్రశంసించి స్వర్ణ పథకంతో ఆయనను ఘనంగా సత్కరించారు. తొలుత ఆయన లయన్స్ గవర్నర్గా ఉండగా, ఒకే రోజు 325 మందికి కంటి చికిత్సలు చేయించారు. 1997లో రక్తదాన శిబిరం ద్వారా 20 వేల యూనిట్ల రక్తాన్ని ఒకేరోజు సేకరించారు. ఈ సేవలు నిరంతరం కొనసాగుతున్నాయి.

కళా సాంస్కృతి రంగ సేవ: హైదరాబాదులో నాలుగేళ్లుగా కళా సాంస్కృతిక రంగాలకు సేవలు అందిస్తున్నారు విజయ్ కుమార్. ఎన్నో సాంస్కృతిక కార్యక్రమాలకు, కళాకారుల అభ్యున్నతికి సహాయ సహకారాలు అందిస్తున్నారు.. ఆయన చేతులమీదుగా సుమారు 70-80 సాంస్కృతిక సంస్థలు ఆవిర్భవించాయి. అదేవిధంగా, త్యాగరాయ గాన సభామండపంలో సంగీత, సాహిత్య, కళారంగాలలో ప్రముఖులైన కళాఖండాలను విజయకుమార్ శాశ్వత ప్రతిపాదికపై ఏర్పాటు చేశారు. ప్రముఖ చిత్రకారుడు నాగేశ్వరరావు ఈ కళాఖండాలను చిత్రించారు. 50 ఏళ్ళు పాటు ఈ పెయింటింగ్స్ ఊడిపోతాయి. వీటిల్లో త్యాగరాజు, ఘంటసాల, సహా ఎంతో మంది ప్రముఖ వాగ్గేయకారులు, సాహిత్యవేత్తలు, భారతరత్న పురస్కార గ్రహీతల చిత్రాలు, తెలుగు తేజోమూర్తుల పెయింటింగులు నిత్యం ప్రేక్షకులకు కన్నుల విందు చేస్తున్నాయి.

సమాజానికి ఇచ్చిందే అసలైన ఆస్తి: “మనం సంపాదించిన ఆస్తి ఎంతో మన కుటుంబం సభ్యులకు తప్ప ఇతరులకు తెలియదు. అదే ఆస్తికి సేవ రూపాన్ని ఇవ్వగలిగితే, ప్రజలందరికీ చెందుతుంది. అలా సమాజ ప్రయోజనాల కోసం ఏదైతే మనం ఇచ్చామో అదే మన అసలైన ఆస్తి. అదే చిరకాలం ప్రజల హృదయాల్లో నిలిచిపోతుంది” అన్నారు విజయ్ కుమార్. తన సిబ్బంది పిల్లలు సహా, పేద విద్యార్థుల చదువులకు అయినా ఆయన సహకరిస్తున్నారు. అనేక పేద, అనాధ, దివ్యాంగుల సంస్థలకు అండదండలిస్తున్నారాయన. అన్నారంలోని వృద్ధాశ్రమం నిర్వహణ బాధ్యతలు కూడా ఆయన చేపట్టారు. రచయిత, దర్శకుడు సూర్యచంద్ర సారిద్యంలో 300 మంది పిల్లలతో నిర్మించే “బాల గోవిందం” చిత్రాన్ని కూడా ఆయన సమర్పిస్తున్నారు.

ఆస్తులు కాదు, చదువు సంస్కారం ఇవ్వండి: నేటి సమాజ తీరుతెన్నుల పట్ల విజయ్ కుమార్ తీవ్ర ఆవేదన వ్యక్తం చేశారు. “సమాజంలో మంచితనం పెరగాలంటే తల్లిదండ్రులు మారాలి. పిల్లలకు తల్లితండ్రులు ఇవ్వాల్సింది ఆస్తులు కాదు. చదువు సంస్కారం. ఈ రెండు ఉంటే నిర్భయ, దిశ లాంటి కేసులు ఉండవు. అలాంటి పిచ్చి పనులు ఎవరు చేయరు సమాజ మార్పు తల్లిదండ్రుల మీదే ఆధారపడి ఉంది. అందుకే తల్లిదండ్రులు సమాజం గురించి ఆలోచించండి. పిల్లల్ని ఇంటర్నెట్ ముందు కాదు, ఫుట్ బాల్, వాలీబాల్ నెట్ ముందు నిలబెట్టి ఆటలు ఆడించండి. లైబ్రరీలు దుమ్ముకొట్టుకుపోకుండా కాపాడుకోవాలంటే, పిల్లల్ని గ్రంధాలయాలకు పంపించండి. వారిలో పుస్తక జ్ఞానం పెంపొందించండి.” అని విజ్ఞప్తి చేశారు విజయ్ కుమార్.
